Soccer Teams Earn Academic Award From NSCAA

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The NC State men's and women's soccer team's posted a team grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 academic year.
NC State is among 97 schools (Division I, II, III, NAIA) had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
This marks the sixth award for the women's program (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008). The club had a 3.01 GPA last year.
On the men's side, NC State and Duke were the only schools in the ACC to earn the award. The Wolfpack had a 3.16 GPA for the school year.
On the field, the men's team finished with a 13-7-2 record and earned the No. 15 national seed in the NCAA Tournament, while the women's team was 8-9-2 under the direction of first-year head coach Steve Springthorpe.
