Volleyball to End Season Against UNC on Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 2009 NC State volleyball season will draw to a close on Wednesday, Nov. 25 as the Wolfpack hosts North Carolina. Play is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum, with Senior Day celebrations to be held for Allison Davis, Keri DeMar, Lisa Kretchman and Arlee Tamietti.

The Pack stands at 7-27 (0-19 ACC) on the year after dropping road bouts at Duke and Wake Forest over the weekend. Kelly Wood leads the team in digs with 223, while Alex Smith has 781 set assists. Sarah Griggs’ 21 service aces is a team-high, as is Lindsay Benac’s 434 digs. Kretchman owns 76 total blocks.

Smith has 2,628 assists for her career, good for fifth-place in school history. She needs just 24 to slide into fourth-place all-time ahead of Alice Commers (2,651).

North Carolina (15-15, 11-8 ACC) has dropped three of its last four matches, including road losses at both Wake Forest and Duke this past weekend. Ingrid Hanson-Tuntland has 302 kills and Cora Harms owns 775 assists.
