Volleyball Heads to Chapel Hill on Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team will take on rival North Carolina in nearby Chapel Hill, N.C., tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 3. Action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the Dean E. Smith Center on the UNC campus.
NC State stands at 7-20 (0-12 ACC) after dropping home conference matches to Clemson and Georgia Tech over the weekend. Lisa Kretchman’s 14 offensive kills led the roster over the weekend, as did Kelly Wood’s 22 digs. Alex Smith, who had 41 set assists this past weekend, now stands in fifth-place in school history with 2,465 for her career.
North Carolina holds an 11-12 (7-5 ACC) record having dropped three-straight matches, including home contests this past weekend against Georgia Tech and Clemson. The Tar Heels boast two netters with over 200 kills each, including Ingrid Hanson-Tuntland (228) and Heather Brooks (222). Cora Harms (580) and Erica Behm (380) have combined for 960 assists, and Kaylie Gibson leads the roster in digs with 353.
