RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State sophomores Paige Dugal and Tanya Cain were voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women's soccer team.
Dugal, a native of Garner, N.C., was selected for the first team in the University Division. She carries a 3.79 grade-point-average in biomedical engineering.
She was second on the club this season with 19 points and eight goals scored for the Wolfpack.
By virtue of being named to the All-District first team, Dugal is now a candidate for the All-America team that will be voted upon later this week.
Cain, who hails from Pinebluff, NC., was recognized on the All-District second team. She owns a 3.92 GAA as an accounting major at NC State.
She finished third this season in scoring for the Wolfpack with 11 points on four goals and three assists.
Cain was named the ACC Player of the Week in early September after scoring three goals against Davidson and the game winner against Campbell that week.
NC State wrapped up its 2009 campaign Sunday, finishing the year with an 8-9-2 overall record and a 2-7-1 slate in the ACC - the clubs best showing since 2006.
