Volleyball to Start Four-Match Road Swing

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team will begin a four-match road jaunt this weekend, playing at Boston College and Maryland. The Wolfpack will take on the Eagles in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Friday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m., before facing the Terrapins in College Park, Md., on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m.
NC State has already faced both Boston College and Maryland this year, falling in both decisions at home. The Pack lost to Maryland in five sets on Oct. 2, later getting swept by Boston College the next day.
The Pack holds a 7-23 (0-15 ACC) record after dropping home contests to both Virginia Tech and Virginia this past weekend. Kelly Wood leads the team in kills with 201, while Keri DeMar boasts 191. Alex Smith’s 686 set assists is a team best, as its Sarah Griggs’ 21 service aces and Lisa Kretchman’s 72 total blocks. Linday Benac’s 407 digs is tops on the roster.
Smith now sits in fifth-place all-time in school history for career sets with 2,533. She needs just 119 to slide into fourth-place in the Wolfpack record books.
Boston College (11-15, 1-14 ACC) has dropped 10 in a row since downing the Pack in Raleigh. Taylor Williams’ 295 kills is tops on the team for the Eagles, as is Krissy Mussenden ‘s 914 set assists.
Maryland (11-17, 3-12 ACC), which has lost four straight and 12 of its last 14, will host North Carolina on Friday night before NC State strolls into town. The Terrapins last win came over Virginia Tech at home on Oct. 25. Maddi Lee has 281 kills for the Terps, while Lisa Scott has 105 total blocks.
Next weekend NC State will play at Duke and Wake Forest.
