Sanchez, Bouemboue Snag ACC Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. – Seniors Alan Sanchez and Ronnie Bouemboue of the NC State men’s soccer team were each named to the 2009 ACC all-conference team. Sanchez snagged first-team honors, while Bouemboue appeared on the second-team.
For the third time in his career, Sanchez was named to the ACC’s all-conference squad. As a freshman in 2006, he was named second-team, and repeated that honor last season. Sanchez is the first Pack player to be named to the ACC’s first-team since Aaron King in 2005.
Sanchez is tied for the team lead with seven goals thus far, and ranks second on the Pack in both points (22) and assists (8). Sanchez is fifth in the ACC in points, eighth in goals, and sixth in asssits.
Beoumeboue was named to the All-ACC second-team for the second straight season. The senior from Brooklyn, N.Y., currently leads the Pack in points with 24. He also holds the team lead with 10 assists, and is tied with Sanchez for tops on the squad with seven goals. In the ACC rankings, Bouemboue is third in points, eighth in goals, and third in assists.
The 15th-ranked Wolfpack will face No. 2 North Carolina this Wednesday night at the ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C.
