Swimming & Diving to Hold Scrimmage on Friday

The Wolfpack men return 18 letterwinners from last season, including multiple school record-holder Mason McGee (200, 500 freestyle). Kevin Woodhull-Smith also owns the school record in the 200 individual medley. The women’s squad boasts 22 returnees, highlighted by Anna Linkenauger who owns program records in the 200 breaststroke and both 200 and 400 individual medley.

A year ago the men posted a 5-3 (3-3 ACC) record, while the women went 5-5 (2-4 ACC). Kristin Davies collected the first diving national championship in school history by picking up an NCAA crown in the platform dive, en route to being named ACC Diver of the Year and ACC Swimming & Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year. Davies also garnered All-America status.
NC State men’s and women’s swimming and diving will officially begin its 2009-10 season against Maryland and Duke on Saturday, Oct. 24, in College Park, Md.
