W. Soccer Hosts Non-League Tilt with Francis Marion

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State steps out of conference to host Francis Marion Thursday night at Dail Soccer Field beginning at 7 p.m., in the first of two games to wrap up the regular season slate. The Wolfpack is back home for the first time in two weeks after three straight ACC road contets. NC State currently sits 10th in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings with seven points and a 2-6-1 league slate.
Last weekend the Pack competed down in the state of Florida and picked up a 1-1 tie with Miami, before a 2-0 setback at No. 7 Florida State. NC State has played a team ranked in the top-10 in five of its last six matches.
The Pack is led on offense by freshman Kara Blosser and sophomore Paige Dugal. Blosser enters the final weekend of the year tied for ninth in the ACC with 20 points on a team-high nine goals and two assists. The Spotsylvania, Va., native also ranks third among freshmen in the league in total points and goals.
Dugal has 18 points on the year with eight goals and two assists. The local product from Garner is 10th in the ACC in goals scored. The duo continues to rank as third highest scoring combo in the ACC.
Senior Gia Cipollini and junior Alyson Santilli lead the team with five assists, while senior Katie Ruiz has dished out four helpers.
NC State sophomore keeper Kim Kern has started all 17 matches, allowing 25 goals in over 1,513 minutes in net. She is tied Kern is tied for eighth with three shutouts, while her save percentage ranks ninth at .737. Her 70 saves are third in the league.

The Patriots have won their last two games by identical 3-0 scores over Eastern Kentucky and Longwood, snapping a four-match losing streak. Amanda Hall leads the team with eight points and four goals, while Angela Salem and Rebeccah Hoekstra each have six points on two goals and two assists. FMU is only 1-8 on the road this season and Thursday's match is the season finale for the club.
