RALEIGH, N.C. – The 24th-ranked NC State men’s soccer team will return to conference action this weekend, as the Pack plays host to Boston College Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Dail Soccer Field.
The Pack will be looking to continue its success playing at home this season. NC State sports a 3-0-1 record at the Dail Soccer Field this season, and in its previous ACC home game the Pack tied then-No. 4 Maryland, 1-1.
The Pack has been prolific on offense all season, as NC State has outscored its opponents 16-7 thus far. The Wolfpack currently ranks second in the ACC in goals per game (2.0), and is first overall in points per game (7.0) and assists (3.0).
A pair of seniors are leading the offensive charge. Ronnie Bouemboue leads the ACC with his five scores on the season, while classmate Alan Sanchez’s six assists are also the top mark in the conference.
The Pack’s defense has been stout this season as well, giving up less than a goal a game. Senior Christopher Widman is tied for first in the conference stats with his three shutouts, thanks in part to the Pack’s backline of seniors Romulo Manzano and Korede Aiyegbuis and juniors Lucas Carpenter and Tyler Lassiter.
Boston College comes into the contest with a record of 5-4 overall and 1-1 in ACC play. The Eagles have been hot as of late, winning four of the last five games, including downing a pair of ranked foes. The Eagles are coming off of a 1-0 double overtime loss to Siena on Tuesday, a game where they started eight freshmen.
