Men's Track & Field Successful at UNC Classic

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. Multiple first-place and top-10 finishes put the exclimation point on a successful day at the UNC Classic for the NC State men’s track and field team on Saturday, Jan. 24.
Lamont Savage won the long jump invitational with a 23’11.75”, setting a new best for the Pack this year. Kwame Boatwright then collected first in the triple jump with a 46:03.25”.
Atolani Akinkuotu took second in the 60 meter dash finals with a 6.78, and Miles Walker placed seventh in the 400 meter dash on a 49.84. Lewis McPherson’s 4:24.11, good for eighth overall, marks the fastest time this season for the Pack in the one mile run.
Boatwright had similair results in the high jump, posting a 6’04.00”, best on the roster this season, for second place. Eric Davis followed closely behind in third place. Adam Gray’s third place mark of 46’03.25” in the shot put is the second best mark on the Wolfpack roster this year.
Jason Jones placed second in the shot put invitational with a 53’04.25” before taking third in the weight throw invitational on a 53’05.00”. Gray also placed seventh in the weight throw invitational with a 50’03.50”.
