1/20/2009 12:00:00 AM | Swimming
RALEIGH, N.C. Fresh off of a conference split with ACC-foe Georgia Tech this past Saturday, the NC State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will resume competition tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Casey Natatorium. The women's team will take on Campbell. The previously scheduled meet between both the men and women against East Carolina has been cancelled.
Action will begin at 5 p.m., with live video coverage provided online by ACC Select.
The women stand at 4-3 (2-3 ACC) after downing the Yellow Jackets. So far this season the Pack’s talented influx of freshmen has mixed well with an array of veteran swimmers and divers. Kristin Davies has hit NCAA cuts in both the 3-meter and 1-meter dives, while Chelsea Ale has hit an NCAA standard of her own in the 3-meter. Erica Smith has set new school records in both the 100- and 200 backstroke this year, while Ashley Richter, Meg Thompson, Patrice Dason, Jessica Ward and Maresa Like-Mathews have all added top-10 all-time marks for the Pack throughout various events.
Campbell’s women post a 4-4 slate on the season.
