No. 25 Gymnastics Travels to No. 8 Michigan

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team will travel to preseason-No. 8 Michigan for a Friday evening meet in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Wolfpack is currently ranked No. 25 after opening the season with a 192.675 in a win over Illinois-Chicago. Freshman Jess Panza was named EAGL Rookie of the Week after winning two events in the meet.
Panza scored a 9.8 on the vault and beam to win both events in the season opener. She currently ranks third in EAGL on vault and fourth on beam.
Junior Taylor Seaman notched a 9.875 on floor, good for seventh nationally and the top mark in EAGL. She also ranks second in EAGL and 21st nationally on bars and third in EAGL on the all-around. She won the floor, bars and the all-around at the meet.
Senior Ashley Shepard posted a 9.825 to finish second against the Flames, and her score ranks 25th in the NCAA and fourth in the EAGL.
Sophomore Brittany Vontz is fifth in EAGL on bars, while fellow sophomore Brittney Hardiman is eighth in the conference in the all-around.
As a team, NC State has the second-highest team score in EAGL and is ranked 25th nationally. The Pack also ranks third in bars and second on floor.
