Jess Panza Named EAGL Rookie of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State freshman gymnast Jess Panza was named EAGL Rookie of the Week after her first career meet. In last Friday's meet against Illinois-Chicago, Panza scored a pair of 9.8s on the beam and vault as the Wolfpack defeated the Flames.
Panza, from New York, N.Y., scored a 9.8 on vault in her first event performance to open the meet to win the event. She later won her second event of the meet with a 9.8 on beam.
Panza and the No. 25 Wolfpack Gymnastics team will travel to preseason No. 8 Michigan this weekend in its first road tilt of the 2009 season.
