Smith Named to Air Force All-Tournament Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Sophomore setter Alex Smith was named to the Air Force Academy All-Tournament Team on Sunday, Sept. 7 following her efforts over the course of play during the previous two days. A native of Placentia, Calif., Smith helped lead the Pack to back-to-back wins over Montana State (3-0) and Air Force (3-2) as NC State improved its record to 2-6 on the young season.
Smith hoisted 120 assists and added 21 kills during the Pack’s stay in Colorado Springs. She also recorded 39 digs and eight total blocks, while landing three service aces.
Next weekend, Sept. 12-13, NC State will hit its home court for the first time of the year, hosting the Hilton/RTP NC State Classic at historic Reynolds Coliseum. Norfolk State, UNC Asheville, Western Carolina and William & Mary will all join the Pack in action.
