Women's Soccer Opens ACC Play at Duke

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State women’s soccer team opens ACC play this weekend, as the Wolfpack (8-2) will take on No. 9 Duke (8-1-1, 0-0-1 ACC) Sunday at 2 p.m. at Koskinen Stadium.
This match features the top two scoring leaders in the ACC. NC State’s Lindsay Vera tops the league with 21 points (8g, 5a), while Duke’s Elisabeth Redmond ranks second in scoring with 20 points (8g, 4a).
NC State is coming off of a 3-2 win over North Florida on Wednesday afternoon to complete the non-conference portion of the schedule.
Duke began ACC play with a 0-0 draw with No. 14 Boston College Thursday night in Durham. Cassidy Powers posted the shutout with two saves for the Blue Devils.
Along with Redmond, KayAnne Gummersall has six goals and a pair of assists for 14 points for the Blue Devils.
