Welte, Prandecki Win Southern Intercollegiate Doubles

ATHENS, GA. Senior Christian Welte and junior Frideric Prandecki of the NC State men’s tennis team battled all the way to the top spot in their doubles division at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. on Monday, Sept. 22. The duo earned the title after taking down Chris Doerr and Tanner Stump from Mississippi State at the event hosted by the University of Georgia.
Welte and Prandecki advanced to the semifinals yesterday, after beating a pair from Duke. Early today they took down Brock Sakey and Joe Delinks of Central Florida, 8-5, to move to the finals. The duo then defeated Doerr and Stump, 8-4, to take the title.
The Pack will head to the All-American Championship in Tulsa, Okla., and the UNC Invite in Chapel Hill, N.C., next week.
