Men's Soccer Travels to UVA Friday Night

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State men’s soccer team will be one the road for the second straight ACC contest to begin the conference slate, as the Wolfpack (1-3-1, 0-1 ACC) travels to Virginia for a 7:00 p.m. kick on Friday. The Pack is fresh off a 3-1 win over VMI on Tuesday, in the first ever night game played at the NC State Soccer Stadium. Junior Ronnie Bouemboue started the scoring in the ninth minute, then fellow junior Alan Sanchez added two goals in leading the Pack to the win.
Last season in Raleigh, NC State earned a hard fought draw with No. 3 Virginia, 2-2. The Wolfpack struck first in the 17th minute and held the lead at the half. The Cavaliers answered with two goals in just over a three minute span, before NC State scored the equalizer in the 69th minute. The two squads would play the remaining 20 minutes of regulation and 20 more minutes of overtime with neither netting the game winner.
The Cavaliers (2-3) return to Klckner Stadium after dropping a 3-1 contest on the road last weekend at Virginia Commonwealth. Freshman Tony Tchani scored UVa’s lone goal, upping his total for the season to three. Fellow freshman Chris Agorsor also has tallied three goals on the year to help lead the Cavalier offense.
In goal, Dan Louisignau earned his fifth-straight start for UVa last Saturday night against the Rams. The sophomore has allowed 11 goals and made 17 saves on the year.
