Hey Wolfpack fans.
After our Red and White Scrimmage this past Saturday, the anticipation for our fall season continues to grow. The game was very competitive, ending with the Red team winning in four sets. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us -- we're looking forward to sharing this season with you.
Sunday, the team, coaches, manager (Thomas), trainer (Leah), strength and conditioning coach (Gabe) and sports psychologist (Dr. Tif) all loaded into a bus and drove to Xtreme Challenge Ropes Course in Monroe, N.C. We started the day with a "low ropes course," basically climbing on wires and suspended planks and tires two feet above the ground.
After a filling and well-earned lunch, we proceeded to the "high ropes course." This was more walking on suspended planks and wires; the only change was that we were now 20 feet above the ground. We also got to zip-line, and that was truly the experience of a lifetime.
Some of the girls loved every second of our challenge today; others completed the course merely for the sense of accomplishment. We learned so much about ourselves and our teammates and how we respond in certain high-tension situations.
Monday, we finish our double days in Reynolds Coliseum. Our preparation now will be focused on areas we saw that needed improvement from the Red-White game, as well as for our first preseason tournament Aug. 29-30 in Richmond, Va.
I'll keep you posted as our season progresses. Thanks again to all those who came and cheered us on Saturday.
