"Fury" to Enhance Team Entrance

NC State has added a bronze statue of a wolf at the tunnel entrance heading to the field from the Murphy Center.
Fury is its name.
The lone wolf has been added at the request of head coach Tom O'Brien to give the players something to touch as they enter the field.
O'Brien wants to make the entrance "a little better," and personally came up with the name of the new wolf.
Center Teddy Larsen was impressed by "Fury" when he first saw it in the tunnel.
"I like the wolf down there," Larsen said. "Hopefully it becomes some kind of tradition and it becomes a cool thing and people like it."
Larsen wasn't worried about forgetting about the wolf and slamming into it before a game, despite all of the smoke, fireworks and teammates crowded around it.
"I would say Jamaine Clemmons is in danger of forgetting about it being there," Larsen said. "I've seen him get pretty hyped up for games and I can see him come out and just slam into it."
Fury checks in at 400 pounds and was crafted by NC State alumnus Dick Idol, who built the Wolf Statue in front of the Murphy Center.
