To Mohawk, or Not to Mohawk.....

If you are lucky enough to work with the NC State football program, then you might have noticed something at practice over the last few weeks.
Mohawks. Five, to be exact.
The NC State kickers, punters and long snappers are all sporting mohawk haircuts during preseason camp, and possibly throughout the season.
Long snapper's Mike Maurer and Corey Tedder, and kickers/punters Bradley Pierson, Josh Czajkowski and Jeff Ruiz are the trend setters at camp.
Below is a Q&A with punter/kicker Bradley Pierson, the "brains" behind the streamlined look.
GoPack.com: Who's idea was it to go with the mohawk haircut?
Pierson: It was mine. I just needed a haircut for camp and I went with the mohawk. It just became a special teams bonding moment for camp.
GoPack.com: Who was the hardest to convince to cut their hair?
Pierson: Mike [Maurer]. Mike had long hair down to his shoulders and it took him a good week before he did it.
GoPack.com: How did you finally convince him?
Pierson: He was tired of being the only one without the mohawk, so he finally gave in and jumped on the wagon.
GoPack.com: How have the other teammates responded to the mohawks?
Pierson: I think they were jealous. They were jealous because we had cool haircuts and they didn't. So they ragged us a little bit about it.
GoPack.com: Could you be accused of copying the idea from some teammates last year, including [defensive lineman] Alan-Michael Cash?
Pierson: They had mohawks but they didn't make it a team thing.
GoPack.com: How did your girlfriends respond to it?
Pierson: Oh, they love it.
GoPack.com: I'm sure.
Corey Tedder (#59) and Josh Czajkowski watch practice.
