174 Student-Athletes Earn ACC Academic Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The 52nd annual Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, noting academic excellence by student-athletes for the 2007-08 school year, was released Wednesday by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
NC State had 174 student-athletes included on the honor roll, which is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.00 or better for the full academic year. This year saw 2,710 student-athletes honored for their hard work in the classroom.
NC State cross country runners Jennifer Boyd and Chris Kollar are among 16 honorees throughout the league that earned their fifth citation on the honor roll.
Kollar was also one of 19 ACC Player of the Year honorees included on the 2007-08 Academic Honor Roll. In addition, Colleen Wetherbee (Women’s Cross Country) was one of eight ACC Freshmen of the Year to be included on the list.
Wolfpack athletes that were honored for the fourth time included: Joseph Cutler (Baseball), Stephen Dickens (Cross Country), Amy Kelly (Cross Country), Armand Quenum (Track & Field), Ty Roach (Wrestling), Lauren Singer (Gymnastics), Natalie Swisher (Swimming) and Tibor Vegh (Cross Country).
