Mellor Sets Lifetime Best at the U.S. Open

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Wolfpack swimmer Stephen Mellor set a new lifetime best with a 1:59.69 in the 200-back during the semifinals at the U.S. Open on Wednesday, July 30 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The time, marked as the 41st-fastest recorded in the world this year, is two seconds better than Mellor’s previous personal best.
The Chesire, England native will be slotted second going into the event finals tonight.
Mellor, who competed in two events at this year’s NCAA Championships, collected All-ACC honors in both the 200-back (1:45.05) and 200-IM (1:47.36) this season
