Three Golfers Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. Three NC State women’s golfers were selected to the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
Senior Stephanie Derrey was named for the third-straight year, while sisters Joanna and Julie Saleeby are both first-time selections.
Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst was tabbed the Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Duke and Florida State each placed four golfers on the team. NC State followed with three honorees, while Miami, North Carolina and Wake Forest each had two. Rounding out the 20-member team with one selection apiece were Boston College, Maryland and Virginia.
