Track & Field Heads to Carolina Classic

The NC State men's and women's track and field teams will travel to the Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Friday, May 9 as the outdoor season rolls on. Eight men and five women will make the trip for the Wolfpack, including three men and two women who have marks that rank nationally.
On the men's side, the group is led by Dexter Adams, who ranks 11th nationally in the long jump with a mark of 25'09.25", an outdoor personal best.
Kevin Hutton, the two-time defending 400m hurdles champion in the ACC, is 15th nationally with a time of 50.74.
Jason Jones ranks 45th in the shot put with a throw of 57'07.00".
For the women's team, the group is led by multi-event star Mattie Bethea. She ranks seventh nationally in the high jump with a height of 5'11.25", the second-best mark in school history. She finished second in the event at the ACC Outdoor Championships to earn All-ACC honors.
DeMiracle Washington, the school record holder in the long jump, ranks 55th nationally with a distance of 20'00.25", a full five inches farther than the previous Wolfpack record. Washington was the ACC Indoor Champion in the long jump and also competes in the triple jump.
