NC State's Dexter Adams finished second in the long jump at the NCAA Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. on Friday to advance to the NCAA Championships. Adams jumped 25'05.25", his third-best mark of the season. It is Adam's third trip overall to nationals, and the second-time he has made the outdoor NCAA meet.
Adams could be joined by a few more of his teammates as the regional meet concludes on Saturday and the at-large draw is announced early next week.
Among those hopefuls will be Jason Jones (sixth in shot put at regionals), Stephen Furst (10th in 5,000m), Kevin Hutton (10th in 400 hurdles) and A'Tolani Akinkuotu (9th in 100m).
The NC State 4x100 relay team of Hutton, Reggie Reese, Akinkuotu and Adams will compete in the finals with a sixth place finish and stand a solid chance of making the national meet.
