ALBUQUERQUE - Well, Tuesday was not quite what I had hoped for, but I still have three more days.
I once again got off to a rocky start with bogeys on my first two holes, and I made a 12-footer to save bogey on my first hole. I made birdie on my 4th hole and thought I was ready to go, but I was quickly knocked back to reality with a bogey on the very next hole. I made the turn at two-over thirty-eight.
Steph (teammate Stephanie Derrey) and her mom came out to watch me starting on my 8th hole, and Steph told me she was only came out to see birdies. Well, ask and you shall receive right? I hit it to about 2.5 feet on my tenth hole, and came very close to making a couple more birdies over the next few holes. Then I came crashing back down with a three putt on my 15th hole, bogey on 16, and making bogey from a tough lie on 17. To top it all off I missed about a 3-footer for birdie on my final hole.
Putts just didn’t fall today, but I have 54 more holes to have them drop. The weather the next three days is supposed to be a bit difficult which should make it even more interesting, but I am ready for it.
After I played today we waited around for a little bit so we could go straight to the airport to pick Ashlee up once she landed. Then we went to meet my parents for dinner. Dinner took a little longer than expected when my parents got a little turned around and drove 30 miles in the wrong direction. I am not sure if people from the East Coast struggle in general when trying to navigate their way around this part of the country, or if we all just seem to be very prone to getting lost.
Tomorrow I don’t play until 2 pm so I am going to have so much time on my hands in the morning. I am trying to stay up late tonight to try to sleep in longer tomorrow, but getting up at 5:45 makes it difficult to stay up too late.
Tomorrow will be more of a test because of the weather, but I am ready to get back out there. It is time for me to get ready for bed, especially, since my computer is telling me it is after 1 am (Eastern Time). I am STILL not used to the time change. Maybe before we leave I will get it.
Whoop, Whoop, LD Out.
