Akinkuotu Fourth in 100m With Near NCAA Regional Mark

NC State sprinter A'Tolani Akinkuotu narrowly missed his second NCAA Regional qualifying mark of the outdoor season in the 100m as competition began at the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta, Ga.
Akinkuotu ran a 10.56, just 0.01 off of the NCAA Regional standard, and was fourth in the race overall.
Teammate Reggie Reese was 11th in the 100m with a 10.68.
Long jumper Dexter Adams finished 11th in the event with a distance of 23'03.25". While not a NCAA Regional mark, Adams has already posted five qualifying distances, including the 11th best long jump mark nationally with a 25'09.25", an outdoor personal-best.
Competition continues Saturday in Atlanta, and a split squad will also compete at the UNC Elite Meet in Chapel Hill, N.C.
