Furst Wins ACC Championship in 10,000m

Stephen Furst won his first career ACC Championship with a win in the 10,000m run at the ACC Outdoor Championships in Atlanta, Ga. to lead the the Wolfpack men's team to a second place standing after the opening day. Furst's time of 29:29.75 was the seventh-fastest time in school history. Teammate Wesley Smith finished second in the same event with the eighth fastest-time in school history to earn All-ACC honors.
The finishes in the 10,000m helped the men to 19 team points and a second-place standing after the opening day. The red and white trails North Carolina by seven points.
Jason Jones finished eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 150'11" to lead a trio of three Wolfpack throwers in the event. Kent Dickens was 10th with a throw of 142'05, a career-best. Adam Gray was 14th.
The three-day ACC Outdoor Championships continue through Saturday, Apr. 19.
