#17 Gymnastics Takes Quad Meet Win at Home

NC State gymnastics Leigha Hancock and Kelsey Lee hit career-highs in the all-around to lead the Wolfpack (15-6) to a win at home in a quad meet. The Pack scored a 195.075, the sixth time in the last seven meets it went over a 195.000. Hancock posted a 39.350 and Lee a 39.175 for their record-setting performances. Hancock also won the beam, floor and the all-around to pace the Wolfpack, while Taylor Seaman won the vault and bars.
Brittney Hardiman tied for first on vault, second on beam and fourth in the all-around. Kelsey Lee was second on the bars and floor, fourth on the beam and second in the all-around.
NC State posted a 48.850 on vault to open the meet, thanks in part to 9.800s from both Seaman and Hardiman. For Hardiman, who leads EAGL in vault and is 19th nationally, it marked the eighth-straight meet that she posted a 9.8 or higher. Seaman posted a 9.8 or higher for the fifth time this season.
Next up for the Pack was bars and Taylor Seaman led the way with a 9.850, her second-highest score of the season. Kelsey Lee was close behind with a 9.825, turning in her second-highest score of the season. Leigha Hancock posted a career-best 9.800 on the bars to finish third on the team in the event. That trio helped pace the Pack to its second-best team score on the year, a 48.900, to remain in the lead after two team events.
Hancock's 9.850 led NC State to a 48.325 on the beam, her second-highest score on the event this season. Hardiman scored a 9.775 on beam, good for second on the team and her second-best score this year. Lee's 9.725 tied for her second-best this season, as well.
NC State finished on floor with a 49.000, the fifth score of 49.000 or higher this season. Hancock stuck a 9.925 on the floor, her second-best showing in 2008, to pace the team. A career-high 9.875 on floor from Lee and a season-high 9.825 from Heather Zolton on floor helped the Pack end the meet in impressive fashion.
