No. 21 Gymnastics Posts Season-High Score

NC State gymnastics posted a season-high score of 196.050 with a strong showing against conference foe New Hampshire in Durham, N.H. With the win, the Wolfpack (18-8, 5-2 EAGL) not only scored its season team-high, but posted the 14th-best mark in school history overall. Leigha Hancock posted a pair of 9.9's to give her 20 for her career, second-most in school history. New Hampshire scored a 194.600 in the meet.
The Pack also had a season-high in beam (49.175), the 16th-best mark in school history for the event. The team scored a 49.050 on the floor for the second-best team score in the event this season.
Hancock won the floor (9.900), beam (9.900) and vault (9.850) to lead the Wolfpack charge, and Kelsey Lee and Heather Zolton also turned in strong performances.
Zolton set a season-high with a 39.150 in the all-around, with her 9.825 on beam ranking fifth and her 9.800 on bars tied for third in the meet. She now has 12 scores of 39.000 and higher in the all-around in her career, second most in school history.
Lee scored 9.800 or higher on bars, beam and floor to hit her second-highest all-around performance of the year.
After the three seniors turned in their steady performances, freshman Brittney Hardiman finished first on the vault with a 9.850, as she continues to lead EAGL in the event.
Sophomore Taylor Seaman tied with Lee and Zolton for third on bars with a 9.800.
Freshman Kirsten Such posted a 9.850 on the beam, a season-high, to help pace the Pack to its season-high as a team. Her score was good for a third-place showing at the meet.
Junior Ashley Shepard continued her hot streak in the floor exercise with a season-high 9.875 to finish second.
NC State will now look to defend its 2007 EAGL Championship this coming weekend in West Virginia.
