NC State senior gymnast Leigha Hancock was named the EAGL Gymnast of the Week today by the league. Hancock won the beam, floor and all-around in a quad on March 9 for the #18 Wolfpack. She posted career-highs on bars (9.800) and in the all-around (39.350). She scored 9.925 on floor and 9.850 on beam. Also, she finished fifth on vault and bars. This marks to second time this season that Hancock earns this honor, tied for the lead in EAGL.
In EAGL, Hancock ranks second on the floor and beam, while checking in at fourth on the vault. NC State leads all three of those events as a team in EAGL thanks in part to Hancock.
Hancock, a leading candidate for EAGL Gymnast of the Year, is 22nd nationally on the floor and 24th in beam.
NC State will host No. 5 LSU, North Carolina and George Washington at 7 pm on Friday night in Reynolds Coliseum.
