M. Track & Field Finishes Sixth at ACC Championships

Chris Kollar finished third in the mile and John Martinez was second in the 3,000m to lead the NC State men's track and field team to a sixth place finish at the ACC Championships. Kollar and Martinez both earned All-ACC honors to add to what Dexter Adams and John Crews did yesterday with an ACC title each.
Adams won the long jump title, his third overall and second indoor crown, and John Crews won the 5,000 meters for his first ACC title on Friday.
Kollar ran a 4:11.34 in the mile to finish third and earn all-conference honors. Eric Mack and Stephen Furst finishes 7th and 8th, respectively, to earn team points for the Pack.
Martinez was second in the 3,000m with a time of 8:14.30, a career-high. Furst finishes fifth and Crews came in 7th to add points to the team total.
A'Tolani Akinkuotu finished fourth in the 60m dash to narrowly miss All-ACC honors with a time of 6.78. It was the eighteenth career time in Akinkuotu's career that he has ran a sub-6.80, the only Wolfpack athlete ever to run below a 6.80.
Jason Jones finished fourth in the shot put with a distance of 57'02.75", just inches away from earning All-ACC recognition.
