To honor the 25th anniversary of the 1983 National Championship, NC State Athletics recently announced the “25 for 25” campaign - an initiative aimed at raising $25,000 for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. NC State hopes to raise the $25,000 by offering a special limited edition Jim Valvano bobblehead with all game day program sales at the NC State-Virginia Tech and NC State-Clemson games.
Beginning today, fans will also be able to purchase these unique items at the GoPack Store, located on the second floor next to the Cheesecake Factory. The limited-production, championship edition Jimmy V bobblehead and game program package can be purchased for a total of $25 plus tax. There are no limits on the number of packages that can be purchased as long as supplies remain. Net proceeds will be donated to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
“Since we announced this fundraising program, we had a number of Wolfpack fans express an interest in getting one of the limited edition items but they do not have tickets for either of these games. We want to make sure we provide as many outlets as possible so that fans who are seeking the chance to purchase these limited edition packages will have the ability to do so” said Brian Asbill, General Manager of Wolfpack Sports Marketing.
Fans attending the NC State Clemson game on Saturday, February 16 will have one final chance to purchase this game program and commemorative bobblehead doll for as long as supplies last. Program and bobblehead sales will begin at 1:30 p.m. when the arena doors open. Game time is at 3 p.m. Commemorative posters from Coca-Cola will be available free to all fans attending the Clemson game. Halftime ceremonies will include a recognition ceremony with the 1983 team.
