1983 Championship Commemorative Pin Giveaway Details
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the 1983 National Championship, NC State Athletics announces an initiative aimed at raising $25,000 for the V Foundation for Cancer Research at two upcoming home basketball games.
The campaign begins at the NC State-Virginia Tech game on Tuesday, February 5. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a “Wolfpack Game Day” game program along with a limited, championship edition Jim Valvano bobblehead doll for $25. The bobblehead doll is meant to commemorate Coach Valvano in the moments after the NCAA championship win over
While supplies last, fans will also have the chance to purchase this game program and commemorative bobblehead doll at the NC State-Clemson game on Saturday, February 16. Free 1983 championship commemorative posters will also be distributed at the Clemson game courtesy of Coca-Cola.
A special pre-sale of the Jim Valvano bobblehead and game program will be available to the first 200 fans at the Clemson game. These 200 fans will have the unique opportunity to meet the 1983 team and get a copy of the poster personally signed by the players in attendance. The poster will be pre-signed by Coach Sidney Lowe. Players scheduled to appear at the autograph session include: Alvin Battle, Thurl Bailey, Lorenzo Charles, Walt Densmore, Tommy Dinardo, George McClain, Cozell McQueen, Ernie Myers, Walter “Dinky” Proctor, Harold Thompson, and Mike Warren (appearances subject to change). Regular program and bobblehead sales will begin at 1:30 p.m. when the arena doors open. Game time is at 3 p.m. At halftime of the Clemson game, a special 1983 team reunion will take place on the court at halftime.
