Dexter Adams claimed his third ACC Championship in the long jump at the ACC Indoor Championships on Friday in Chapel Hill. Adams, a senior from Greensboro, previously won the 2006 Indoor title and the 2007 outdoor crown. Adams is the only Wolfpack athlete to win three career long jump titles overall.
His mark of 25'07.50" is the fourth longest distance in school history and his personal best. It was also his second NCAA Provisional Mark this season in the event. It is also currently the eighth best distance in the country this season.
"Pretty much since both of them won I've been smiling," said jumps coach Chris Coleman. "I knew both would be in good position here at the championships, and they set their personal records. Dexter and DeMiracle each had their best jump of the day last, which is huge."
Adams will compete later in the day in the 60 meter dash, an event where he has posted a career-best time of 6.99 this season.
