The NC State men's track and field team will head to the ACC Indoor Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C. Thursday, February 28 to Saturday, March 1. The men will look to build on the strength of five NCAA Provisional marks. Dexter Adams, who competes in his final Indoor ACC Championship this week, won the indoor long jump in 2006 and the outdoor title in 2007.
A'Tolani Akinkuotu (60m), Jason Jones (shot put), Tibor Vegh (5,000m) and Chris Kollar (mile) have each notched NCAA Provisional marks as well.
Adams is currently third in the long jump in the ACC with a 25'00.50".
Akinkuotu is fifth in the ACC in the 60m dash with a school record 6.70.
Jones leads the ACC in the shot put with a 58'04.50", eighth-best all-time for the Pack. He also ranks fifth in the conference in the weight throw (55'09.25").
Vegh leads the conference in the 5,000m with a 14:03.03 and is third in the 3,000m with an 8:06.22.
Kollar leads the ACC in the mile with the league's only provisional mark in the event and a time of 4:02.76. That time ranks fifth in school history and is the fastest for a Wolfpack runner since 1999.
Reggie Reese has been impressive as well, as he currently ranks ninth in the ACC for the 60m dash with a personal-best 6.80, tied for the second fastest time in school history. Reese is also seventh in the ACC with a 21.71.
