W. Track & Field Ends Weekend at UNC, Va. Tech

Kara McKenna ran for indoor career-bests in the mile and 800 meters at the UNC Relays and Kayla Lawson and DeMiracle Washington were solid in the jumps at the Virginia Tech Challenge on Saturday. The team finished competition at a pair of meets in Chapel Hill, N.C. and Blacksburg, Va.
McKenna, who competed at the UNC Relays, was second in the mile with a 5:09.73 and finished sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:24.23.
Kayla Lawson jumped 5'06.50" at the VT Challenge, her second-best mark of the season, to finish fifth.
DeMiracle Washington jumped 40'00.00" in the triple jump, the fifth time this season she cleared over 40 feet.
Anne Wheatly was second in the 3,000m with a 10:30.47 at the UNC Relays.
