The Pack is back in action after taking first place at the Sweetheart Invite and receiving its highest national ranking since 2000. At the Sweetheart Invitational, NC State beat two ranked teams, No. 18 Penn State and No. 25 Kent State, as well as William & Mary. Strong performances from senior Leigha Hancock and sophomore Taylor Seaman helped the Pack win both the beam and floor events. Senior Heather Zolton posted a new career-best of 9.850 on beam, and with a 9.925 on floor, Seaman set a new career-high and won the event.
The Pack's floor routines propelled them to a No. 9 national ranking in the event. This is NC State's highest ranking in an event since 2003's No. 8 ranking on bars. The Wolfpack is also ranked nationally in the other three events, coming in at 11th on bars, 17th on vault, and 22nd on beam. In the southeast region rankings, the Pack is third in all four events, behind No. 1 Georgia and No. 3 Florida. Individually, freshman Brittney Hardiman is 24th in the all-around and 19th on vault nationally, as well as 5th on vault, 2nd in all-around, 11th on floor, 12th on bars, and 21st on beam regionally.
