Men's Track & Field Heads to Arkansas and UNC

The men’s track & field team will send 14 athletes to Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational while 25 others will make the trip down the road to Chapel Hill for the Carolina Chic-Fil-A Invite. ESPN will be showing the Tyson Invitational on tape delay Sunday from 4-6 pm.
The men are led by a quartet of athletes who are nationally ranked in the top 25 at their position. Dexter Adams is ranked No. 15 in the long jump with a jump of 25’00.50”. Jason Jones is No. 17 in the shot put with a throw of 58’04.50”. Last week Chris Kollar ran fastest mile since 1999, which is good for No. 21 in the nation this season. A’Tolani Akinkuotu is No. 22 in the nation in the 60 meters with a time of 6.72 seconds. All four of these athletes have NCAA provisional qualifying marks for their respective events.
Tibor Vegh has the current top time in the ACC in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:06.22. Chris Kollar’s time of 4:02.76 is the fastest in the ACC as well.
Dexter Adams is currently third in the ACC in the long jump with a mark of 25’00.50”.
Jason Jones leads the ACC in the shot put with his throw of 58’04.50.
