Andre Brown: Tomorrow Is The Day
12/28/2008 12:00:00 AM | Pack Athletics
Our last day before the game started like the other days down here. We woke up for breakfast and meetings, before heading to a pair of hospitals. Part of the team went to a children's hospital with Coach O'Brien, while a big group headed to the veteran's hospital.
At the veteran's hospital they had a display showing all of the medal of honor winners from Alabama. The guys took photos and handed out shirts and hats to the veterans we visited. We told them to turn on our game tomorrow and cheer for us.
The players that went to the children's hospital with Coach O'Brien were split up into four groups alongside players from Rutgers. The groups went all throughout the hospital trying to brighten the days of some of the ill children and their families. It's a great feeling to be able to make someone's day better just by stepping into a room and talking to them for a few moments. We passed out stickers, shirts and wristbands and taught the Wolfpack hand symbol to a bunch of the kids.
After the hospital visits the team headed to Legion Field for a walkthrough and press conference. The stadium was big and very old, but also had a ton of history. Alabama and Auburn used to play in the Iron Bowl here for years.
Anthony Hill and Jeremy Gray went with Coach O'Brien to the press conference while the rest of the team headed back to the hotel to get ready for the pep rally and parade tonight.
Tomorrow I play in my final game, and I'm and excited to get going and get out there and beat Rutgers.
