A Hectic Homestretch (11/07/08)

We are getting ready for the home stretch in football, with three straight games against the other members of the Big Four. We’re coming off a bye week, and football coach Tom O’Brien and his team have spent nearly two weeks working on fundamentals and all the things that coaches like to work on when they have a little extra time.
I had the opportunity to attend several practices over the last 10 days, and what continues to impress me about this team is its effort and determination. The bye week we just had came at the perfect time for this team, since every week that passes means it can get healthier.
I think we will see that this weekend at Duke, when several players who have missed time with injuries return to the lineup.
This is always a hectic time around the Weisiger-Brown Building, where most of our athletics administration is housed, and at the Palisades, where the Ticket Office and the Wolfpack Club have their offices.
Our staff is doing double-duty, getting ready for the Nov. 15 home football game against Wake Forest and processing the thousands of season-ticket orders for men’s basketball.
The overlap between football and basketball seasons always makes for some long days for everyone in the department, and I appreciate all they do to make game days great for our fans and to provide great customer service for our season-ticket holders.
It’s a cooperative effort between our Ticket Office, under the direction of assistant athletics director for ticket operations Brian Kelly, and the Wolfpack Club.
Brian mentioned that there are still some upper-level season tickets available for the upcoming men’s basketball season. In addition, for those looking for early holiday gift ideas, three great mini-packs went on sale late last week. They can be purchased from the GoPack.com Ticket Center.
