Women's Soccer Hosts Terps Sunday Afternoon

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women’s soccer team begins a string of three straight home matches Sunday afternoon against Maryland at 1 p.m., from NC State Soccer Stadium. Fans unable to make it to the game can watch live on ACCSelect.com.
NC State has an 8-9 overall record and a 0-7 mark in conference play. Lindsay Vera leads the Wolfpack in scoring with eight goals and six assists for 22 points, which is tied for fifth in the ACC.
Meredith Parrilla is tied for fourth in the ACC with six assists, while Gia Cipollini’s five helpers are tied for 14th.
Kim Kern has made 50 saves in nine games in goal for the Pack, while Rachel Barnette has come up with 49 stops in 10 matches. They both rank in the top-three in the league in saves per game.
Freshmen Paige Dugal and Tanya Cain have each notched three goals this season. Cain scored her first goal in league play at Wake Forest on Thursday in a 2-1 setback.
Maryland has dropped four straight matches and will enter Sunday with a 5-10-1 overall record, 1-7-0 in the ACC.
Kaila Sciascia leads Maryland in scoring with 13 points on six goals and one assist, while Lydia Hastings has four goals and four points for 12 points. Mary Casey has made 40 saves for the Terps this season, which equates to 3.64 per game, the seventh most in the league.
