Volleyball Readies for Home ACC Contests

RALEIGH, N.C. NC State volleyball will host both Georgia Tech and Clemson in ACC action at historic Reynolds Coliseum on campus this weekend. The Pack will take on the Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, before facing the Tigers at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Fans interested in attending the men's basketball Red & White scrimmage on Saturday are encouraged to arrive early for both events to get the best seats in the house.
Arlee Tamietti leads State in both kills (243) and service aces (20), while Alex Smith has 711 assists. Kelly Wood boasts 350 digs, while Aiwane Iboaya posts a team-best 86 total blocks.
Last weekend Georgia Tech (14-5 / 6-3 ACC) picked up back-to-back shutout ACC wins over Maryland and Boston College. In all, the Yellow Jackets have won its last three matches by shutout and have collected decisions in four of its last six outings. The Yellow Jackets currently stand at second in the conference.
Clemson (15-5 / 7-2 ACC) is tied for first in the league alongside Miami and Virginia Tech., and have won seven straight and 13 of 14. Danielle Hepburn leads Clemson in kills (267), hitting percentage (.374) and total blocks (110), and became the school’s all-time leader in blocks last weekend. She stands fourth nationally with 1.55 blocks per set.
Following this weekend NC State will hit the road for its next four bouts, all of which are ACC contests. Next week the Pack will play at Boston College and Maryland, before heading to Virginia Tech and Virginia the following weekend.
