Em's Blog: In the Preseason (10/14/08)

Hello Wolfpack fans! I just wanted to give you an update on what your Wolfpack women’s basketball team has been up to the last couple of months. We have just come to the conclusion of our preseason and everyone has worked extremely hard to get in shape for the upcoming season. We spent three days a week conditioning and two days having skill workouts. Two of the conditioning days were spent in the pool to try and reduce the amount of pressure on our bodies due to the lack of players available to play this season. One day we spent time on the underwater treadmill, and the other was spent in the regular pool doing sprint workouts. And as basketball players we needed at least one day for on the court conditioning!
With a great preseason behind us, we are ready to start practice this Friday and work for a great season this year.
Just a couple of weeks ago the team participated in the homecoming parade to support our football team for their big game. It ended up being a blast! Two of our teammates, Inga and Bonae, dressed up as clowns to entertain our fans. They were a hit! The rest of the team was in the back of a truck throwing t-shirts and candy to all of the fans. By the end of the parade we were all out of the truck and mingling with all of our fans on the street. We really enjoyed being a part of the homecoming festivities and cheering our football team on.
