Doughtie Finishes 11th at Harder Hall Invitational

SEBRING, Fla. Junior Lauren Doughtie finished tied for 11th to lead five NC State women’s golfers competing in the 53rd Harder Hall Women's Invitational Golf Tournament at the par-72, 6,151-yard Harder Hall Country Club.
Doughtie, the native of Suffolk, Va., recorded her best round of the four-day tournament with a one-under 71 on Sunday to finish at +10 (77-73-77-71=298) overall in the championship flight.
Sophomore Emily Street shot an identical one-under 71 on Sunday to place 23rd overall in the championship flight with a four-day total of +20 (83-77-77-71=308). After back-to-back rounds of five-over 77, Street climbed up the leaderboard on the final day with a good final round showing.
In the First Flight, sophomore Joanna Saleeby posted her best round of the tournament on Sunday with a four-over 76 and she finished at +32 (82-83-79-76=320).
Freshman Julie Saleeby was five shots in back of her older sister at +37 (87-81-79-78=325). The Raleigh native steadily improved each day over the course of the tournament. She was nine shots better on Sunday than she was on first-day action that took place Thursday.
Sophomore Cindel Gwyn competed in the Second Flight and finished at +39 (90-79-77-81=327) over 72 holes. Her best round was a five-over 77 on Saturday.
Arizona senior Alison Walshe held on to her first day lead and never looked back in picking up the win. She finished at 7 (281) after back-to-back four-under rounds of 68 on the weekend.
The tournament is a 72-hole stroke play format. The low 40 players and ties at the end of 36 holes competed in the championship flight. The tournament is open to women amateur golfers and by invitation only.
