BUIES CREEK,
N.C. With four starters out of the lineup,
NC State’s role as heavy favorites over
Campbell was diminished Wednesday night. Still, the Wolfpack won six of 10 bouts, including a pin by
Colton Palmer at 157 pounds, a technical fall by back-up Ray Ward at 165, and major decision Taylor Cummings at 125 and Jalil Dozier at 165, to hand the
Camels a 25-12 defeat.
Darius Little (133 pounds), Darrion Caldwell (149), Randy Goodman (174) and Ryan Goodman (184) all missed the bout due to minor injuries, but of the six regulars who were in the lineup, five were victorious, improving NC State to 7-7-1 in dual matches this season. Campbell fell to 1-13-1.
NC State never trailed in the team scoring, thanks in large part to Cummings’ 9-1 major decision over CJ Gittens in the opening bout.
