Men's Soccer in Home Action on Wednesday

Raleigh, N.C. The NC State men’s soccer team returns to home action this Wednesday afternoon, as the Pack takes on visiting Georgia Southern at 4:00 p.m. at Method Road. The Wolfpack (2-1-1) recorded a tie against No. 12 St. Louis last weekend in addition to dropping the first contest of the season, while the Eagles (1-3) enter tomorrow’s contest having lost three straight.
After opening the season with back-to-back wins in the Wolfpack Classic, NC State went 0-1-1 in the past weekends Duke/adidas Classic. The Pack first tied No. 12 St. Louis, behind a goal by Daniel Fish in the 53rd minute and a career-high 11 saves by Christopher Widman in goal. On Sunday, the Pack dropped its first game of the season, 1-0 to Villanova. Despite holding a shot advantage of 22-8, the Pack only had two shots on goal and were shutout for the first time as well.
After winning the first game of the season against VMI, Georgia Southern has dropped three straight and has been outscored 5-0 during that span. Joey Ralph has played every minute in goal, and holds a GAA of 1.24 thus far.
NC State leads the all-time series against Georgia Southern 3-1, with NC State winning the last match-up in 2003, 4-2.
