Volleyball Bounces Back Against Campbell, 3-1

DURHAM, N.C. NC State made up for a gut-wrenching loss a night ago to move to 2-1 on the season with a come from behind win over Campbell, 3-1, at the NC Central Tournament in Durham, N.C., on Saturday, Aug. 25. The Camels dropped to 1-1 on the year with the loss.
Nearly all players on the Wolfpack roster competed, shouldering the workload together and and mounting a total team effort. For the first time on the young season no single player recorded double-digit kill totals, and it didn’t really matter as six players tallied five or more to balance out the offensive attack.
Campbell cruised along early on a .655 hitting percentage in the first frame, staking an early match lead with a 27-30 decision. State, looking sluggish at times early on in the match, dominated to even things up in game two (30-18) before clawing out a crucial win in game three (30-27) with a potent offense and solid defense.
The Wolfpack finished things off with a seven point run to put away the match, taking game four 30-17.
NC State will finish its stay at the tournament with a 1 p.m. bout against Loyola.
