Former Player George Williams in AFL Championship

Former NC State defensive tackle George Williams will compete with the San Jose Sabercats in Arenabowl XXI in New Orleans, Sunday, July 29. The Sabercats (13-3) will face the Columbus Destroyers (7-9) for the Arena League Championship and the game will be televised live on ESPN at 3 p.m. ET.
Williams, a native of Roseboro, N.C., was a four-year letter winner at NC State from 1994-97 at defensive tackle and led the team in tackles-for-loss as a sophomore and senior. He notched 50 tackles as a senior, seventh on the team, and had a team-high nine quarterback hurries.
Williams is a starter on both the offensive and defensive line, and has also caught five passes, all for touchdowns, this season for the Sabercats.
