Lauren Doughtie Moves to Second Round at Virginia Amateur

RICHMOND, Va. Lauren Doughtie has advanced to the second round of match play at the 82nd Virginia State Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship at The Country Club of Virginia’s James River Course (5,781 yards, par 36-3672).
Doughtie, who hails from Suffolk, Va., will face Misha Harvey, the No. 10-seeded player, on Wednesday in the second round.
Doughtie, the seventh seed, registered a 4 and 3 win over No. 26 Shawn McCullough in the opening round on Tuesday.
The second round of match play is set for Wednesday, July 11, with consolation matches beginning the same day. The quarterfinals and semifinals are Thursday, July 12, followed by the 18-hole championship final on Friday, July 13.
